There are times when you wouldn’t want to take your dog to doctor for medical care. You can use some home made remedies instead, after they have been pre-approved by the doctor.
- Orange Peel- When your dog has ticks or fleas in his fur, formulate a paste of orange peels and put it on his fur. After it has been on him for five minutes, use water to wash it off very carefully so as to not scrub it too hard.
- Petroleum Jelly- If you notice that your dog has dry and cracked skin under his paws, then the best thing to do would be to rub some petroleum jelly there for a continuous period of four to five days. It is a sure way to heal them.
- Vinegar- To cure your dog of foul smell put a few drops of vinegar in his bathwater. If your dog refuses to be bathed, you can just as well use baking soda or even dry shampoo. Sprinkle either of the two on his fur and brush it out after some minutes have passed.
- Baking Soda- It is commonly seen that dogs fall prey to mosquito bites or insect bites. To cure the bite, apply a mixture of baking soda and water on the affected area. If there is puffiness, then put an ice pack on it. But if your dog shows a strong reaction to the bite or sting, then straightaway take him to a vet because he might just be sensitive to it.
Owners should keep in mind that onions and garlic are lethal to a dog and should never be fed with. Also, if your dog is suffering from diarrhoea or nausea, then it would be more advisable to rush him to a doctor than to treat him at home yourself.
